Structure of xenon monolayers on metal surfaces
Description
Xenon gives hexagonal close-packed monolayers on single-crystal faces of copper and silver at 77 K with a nearly constant cross-sectional area of 17 Å2 per atom, and in which adsorbate layer is epitaxially related to the substrate but not necessarily in registry with it.
