Description
The results of measurements performed by the method of two-step cascades (TSC) on the 115 In target nucleus and their comparison with model calculations based on various models of E1 and M1 strength functions are discussed. Integrated TSC intensities are obtained from the central interval (2.4 MeV wide) of individual TSC spectra. These experimental integrated TSC intensities were compared with the calculated expectation values by using the 6 selected model combinations. It is shown that the model combinations including the Brink-Axel model of the E1 strength functions fail to reproduce integrated TSC intensities of positive-parity states. On the other hand those model combinations which include the model of Kadmenskij at al. provide a relatively good agreement. The best agreement is obtained if the the model of Kadmenskij et al. is combined with the single-particle model of the M1 strength functions. Not only the integrated TSC intensities but also the TSC spectra are well reproduced within the optimum model combinations applied. 20 refs., 1 tab., 4 figs
