Measurements of turbulent velocity and temperature in a central channel of a heated rod bundle

Description
A number of experiments has been performed in various rod bundle geometries with isothermal flow. A large number of the available data were acquired in a 4-rod rectangular channel. To model the heated flow correctly a knowledge of turbulent temperature fluctuations such as the eddy diffusivity of heat in all directions is necessary. Since no such data were available for flow through rod bundles, it is the aim to measure the turbulent quantities in heated flow through triangular array rod bundles. The experimental rig was completed last year, all data acquisition and control systems were tested and a first series of measurements were performed. (orig./DG)
