Dimensional instability of uranium

Description
The mechanisms which try to explain the dimensionl stability of metallic uranium, when it is submitted to repeated cycles of heating and cooling, in the alpha-range of temperatures are discussed. The extension of the deformations and the structural changes in terms of the material variables and thermal cycling variables are also discussed. (Author)

Sao discutidos os mecanismos que procuram explicar a instabilidade dimensional do uranio metalico, quando este e submetido a ciclos repetidos de aquecimento e resfriamento, no intervalo alfa de temperatura. Discute-se tambem a extensao das deformacoes e as alteracoes estruturais, em funcao das variaveis do material e das variaveis da ciclagem termica. (Autor)Additional details
