Electron removal from H and He atoms in collisions with Csup(q+), Nsup(q+) and Osup(q+) ions
Description
Cross sections for electron capture and ionisation in collision of partially and completely stripped Csup(q+), Nsup(q+) and Osup(q+) ions with hydrogen and helium atoms have been calculated at selected energies. The classical trajectory Monte Carlo method was used with a variable-charge pseudopotential to describe the interaction of the active electron with the projectile ion. A scaling relationship has been derived for the electron removal (capture and ionisation) cross section which allows a unified representation of the data. (orig.)
