Theoretical consideration concerning the size of thermonuclear plasma core of the thermonuclear reactor controlled by the rate of the nuclear fission reactions. Pt. 1

Description

In papers (1,2,3,4,5) the working principles are discussed of a thermonuclear reactor the high temperature plasma of which is controlled by the rate of the nuclear fission reactions. In this paper, an elementary model is presented of the thermonuclear plasma doped with impurities. An endeavour is made to achieve the energy balance through the fusion action so as to be able to estimate the size of the high temperature plasma and hence the power of the thermonuclear reactor. The manner is discussed of obtaining the mean energy necessary to produce a fusion act by a deuterium or tritium and deuterium ion finally. The values are brought into relief of the time constants during which the various ionic components of the plasma receive or yield energy. Some characteristic quantities of the high temperature plasma are computed for four types of potential thermonuclear reactors and all directions are discussed towards which the researches should be directed in view of elucidating the principal problems of this type of thermonuclear reactor
