Description
The progress report of January-June 2009 covers the following topics: Issues on the classification scheme of JSRI (joint safety research index): integrity and reliability; design accidents; severe accidents; fission products in the primary cooling circuit and the containment; containment; risk analyses. Issues concerning reactor safety: component safety: component loads, material strength, loading limits, non-destructive testing; plant behavior and sequence of accident events: thermohydraulics and transients in case of LOCA; efficiency of plant -internal emergency protection measures; reactor physics and fuel element behavior, core damage in the reactor pressure vessel and containment; hydrogen distribution and combustion; fission product behavior in the containment, specific questions concerning reactors of the soviet construction line; probabilistic safety analyses; external impacts; man-machine interaction; development of innovative reactor systems.
