Description
The acoustic Barkhausen emission (ABE) in two ferromagnetic amorphous alloys, Fe40Ni40P14B6 and Fe78Mo2B20 is investigated. The ABE is strongly dependent on externally applied stress, and thermal annealing treatment. The dependence on the annealing treatment can be interpreted in terms of the accompanying structural relaxation. The ABE dependence on temperature is also reported. At the Curie point as the spontaneous magnetization of a single domain approaches zero, the ABE is reduced to background level. (author)
