Development of nuclear instrumentation using PROTEUS Software

Description
The development of an instrumentation prototype can be roughly divided into the design, implementation and testing of that prototype. These tasks require time to complete and changes/modifications to this prototype are often necessary to satisfy design requirements. Currently, with the evolution of analog and digital circuit simulation software, it is possible to reduce the time spent on developing a prototype. Proteus software has been used in the development of equipment in many areas of science due to its ease of implementation. Proteus software is a complete development platform for project, test and implement digital and analogical electronic circuits from product concept to design completion. Its advantages are intelligent principle layout, hybrid circuit simulation and accurate analysis, single-chip software debugging, singlechip and peripheral circuit co-simulation, PCB automatic layout and wiring. In this work, we use Proteus software to help in the development of nuclear instrumentation for spectrometric analysis. In order to validate the software in this task we compared its results simulation with two implement electronic circuits: a charge-sensitive preamplifier and a Gaussian amplifier. (author)
