Time evolution of disk galaxies undergoing stochastic self-propagating star formation

Description
Models of disk galaxies in which a stochastic self-propagating star formation mechanism is operating are presented. The evolution of the models is followed over a period of 1010 years, and account is taken of the depletion of gas due to conversion into stars and of the return of matter to the interstellar medium by evolving stars
