Application of the cluster-folding model to polarised 6Li scattering at intermediate energies
Description
Elastic scattering of polarised 6Li from 40Ca at Elab=2.1 GeV is investigated within an α+d cluster model for the projectile. Schroedinger-equivalent Dirac phenomenological optical potentials for p-40Ca at 350 MeV are used consistently within a single folding model to obtain the 6Li-40Ca interaction. The elastic scattering tensor analysing power, Ayy, is found to be due predominantly to the second order contribution from the static folded spin-orbit potential and, to a slightly lesser extent, to the 6Li D-state.
