Description
The heat transfer in a thermal regenerator at low temperatures has been determined by correlating the experimental results with a mathematical model describing the process in a transient regime. The regenerator packing consists in lead balls at an initial temperature of 80 K; the gas is hydrogen at a pressure of 2 bar with a variable flow rate within 2 to 10 Nm3/h. According to all the tests obtained, the heat transfer can be described by the non-dimensional relationship : Nu = 0.825 Re0.48Pr1/3
