Description
Measurements (PAT) have been performed on a commercial sample (5005) of Al-Mg to estimate the activation enthalpy for migration point defects and dislocations. The mean lifetime for samples deformed at 25% have been studied as a function of isochronal and isothermal annealing temperature. Two recovery stages were observed, one of them for the recovery of point defect and the other for dislocations. The obtained values of the activation enthalpy for point defect state, u1 and dislocation state, u2, are (0.343±0.098) eV and (1.124±0.193) eV respectively. (orig.)
