Design, fabrication and test of double cusp fusion machine, RFC-XX

Description
Description is made about the design, fabrication and test results of the world's largest double cusp fusion machine called Radio Frequency Containment-Type Twenty (RFC-XX). RFC-XX was planned by the Insitute of Plasma Physics, Nagoya University. The main parts (the magnetic field coil system, the vacuum vessel, the plasma source, etc.) were completed by Toshiba in march 1977. For the design and manufacture, many difficult problems including the realization of high-precision magnetic field and ultrahigh vacuum, maintaining excellent accessibility to the machine for plasma experiments have been solved. The results of tests after fabrication have shown that the requirements of plasma experiment facilities are fully satisfied. (author)
