Determination of sulfur in solids by constant current coulometric titration following combustion
Description
A method for determination of sulfur in solid materials by combustion in induction furnace, followed by constant current coulometric titration of the sulfur dioxide produced, is described. The method is applicable to samples with sulfur contents of 80 ppm to 20,000 ppm. Its feasibility was checked on the NBS and Leco steel samples. The results are in good agreement with the specified values. (author)

Descreve-se um metodo para determinacao de enxofre em materiais solidos por combustao em fornalha de inducao, seguida de uma titulacao coulometrica a corrente constante do dioxido de enxofre produzido. O metodo e aplicavel a amostras com conteudo de enxofre de 80 ppm a 20.000 ppm. Sua comprovacao foi testada em amostras de aco NBS e Leco. Os resultados estao em bom acordo com os valores especificados. (autor)Files
