Description

Numerous methods exist now for signal analysis in ultrasonic testing. These methods give more or less accurate information for defects characterization. In this paper is presented the development of a particular system based on a computer Signal processing: the Adaptative Learning Network (ALN) allowing the discrimination of defects in function of their nature. The ultrasonic signal is sampled and characterized by parameters amplitude-time and amplitude-frequency. The method was tested on stainless steel tubes welds showing fatigue cracks. The ALN model developed allows, under certain conditions, the discrimination of cracks from other defects

Abstract (French)

Il existe a l'heure actuelle de nombreuses methodes d'analyse du signal obtenu lors des controles par ultrasons. Ces methodes fournissent des informations plus ou moins precises permettant la caracterisation des indications ainsi detectees. L'etude presentee concerne le developpement d'un systeme particulier, s'appuyant sur un traitement informatique du signal: l'ALN (''Adaptive Learning Network''), qui permet de discriminer les defauts d'apres leur nature. A cet effet le signal ultrasons est preleve, echantillonne et caracterise par un certain nombre de parametres dans les domaines amplitude-temps et amplitude-frequence. Cette methode d'analyse a ete testee sur les echantillons de soudure de tubes en acier inoxydable presentant des fissures de fatigue. Le modele ALN developpe permet dans certaines conditions de discriminer les fissures des autres types de defauts
