Electron capture in slow collisions of multiply charged ions with hydrogen molecules
Description
Using the electron tunnelling model for the electron transfer process in slow collisions of multi-charged ions with neutral particles, the total electron capture in collisions of H2 with Xsup(Z+)(Z >- 4) is considered. Cross sections are calculated for X = Kr and Z = 4-7 in the energy range 1-20 keV and are compared with experimental data. The Z dependence of the cross sections is also discussed and a comparison is made with available theoretical and experimental results. (author)
