The effects on the average life of rats with cold-adaption and irradiation

Description

Wistar rats were cold-adapted under the temperature of -15 degree C for 14 days before irradiated 7.0 Gy by 60Co γ rays. They were cold irradiation group. Groups of the room temperature, room temperature-irradiation and cold-adaption are controls. At the end of 30 days after irradiation, room temperature and cold-adaption rats are all alive, cold irradiation and room temperature-irradiation are all dead. The results showed that the average life after irradiation of cold irradiation group is significantly longer than that of the room temperature-irradiation one
