Contribution to cytogenetic study of xeroderma pigmentosum

Description

After a recall on precancerous diseases (Fanconi anaemia, telangiectasia ataxia, Bloom syndrome, and xeroderma pigmentosum) with a discussion of their most characteristic features (clinical, cytogenetic and biochemical data), the author of this medicine thesis addresses the cytogenetic aspect of the xeroderma pigmentosum by using techniques of chromosome marking. She reports the study of spontaneous rates of breakage and of chromosomal rearrangements, of sister chromatid exchanges, and of the rapidity of the cellular cycle in lymphocytes of peripheral blood. She also reports a cytogenetic study of different types of cutaneous tumours, notably malignant, noticed on patients and the effect of the near ultraviolet radiation on the development of skin diseases
