Chaotic analysis as a diagnostic tool for stochastic nonlinear reactor noise

  • 1. Tokai Univ., Tokyo (Japan)
  • 2. Toshiba Corporation Nuclear Engineering Laboratory (Japan)

Description

Conventional Lyapunov exponents can be applied in a global sense to identify the internal structure of chaos-like reactor noise. In this context, an example of chaotic analysis for reactor temperature noise is shown. However, the conventional techniques are not sufficient for realistic reactor noise diagnosis. For this reason, a new diagnostic tool is introduced which is based on the Lyapunov spectrum, using a nonlinear stochastic dynamic model. (author)
