Advances in refining and recovery

Following the recent development of improved methods of platinum refining and advances in gold-uranium recovery techniques, South African Mining and Engineering Journal has carried out a survey of recent metallurgical research programme and achievements. This covered the work at Anglo American Corporation's Research Laboratories, the laboratories of the Johannesburg Consolidated Investment Company and the National Institute for Metallurgy. Findings of the survey are outlined in the article
