Description
The scope and purpose of an assessment of the thermodynamic properties of the aqueous actinide complexes are presented. This work, which at present is limited to inorganic ligands and three selected organic ligands (formate, acetate and oxalate), is part of an effort established by the International Atomic Energy Agency to assess the thermodynamic properties of the actinides and their compounds. The problems involved in this work are illustrated by discussing the present status of the assessment as related to a few complex species. (author)
