Oxidation state of surface tin in an industrially produced float glass

Description

The stoichiometry of tin oxide incorporated in the bottom surfaces of float glasses has been studied by CEMS. Our results indicate the predominance in the investigated surfaces of the Sn(II) oxidation state, which is higher in the outer layer (some tens of nm) as compared to the inner one. (orig.)
