Superconductivity and vortices in atomic layers of metals on silicon surfaces

Description
Superconductivity of a reconstruction surface induced by indium adatoms on silicon substrates was studied by electron transport measurements and scanning tunneling microscopy. Atomic steps on the surface have been found to limit the flow of supercurrents and behave like Josephson junctions. (author)
