Structure and properties of composites under laser modification of plasma-assisting coatings on powder materials

Effect of laser thermal modification (LTM) parameters on phase and chemical composition, structure, hardening, fracture toughness and wear resistance of self-fluxing intermetallic and compounds (based on titanium carbonitride) coatings deposited on powder steel and titanium were studied by methods of X-ray analysis, Auger spectroscopy, optical and microdurometrical analysis using mathematical experiment design. Peculiarities of LTM relative to flame and furnace coating treatments were determined. Regression equations were obtained for coating properties which provide materials wear resistance increase 1,5-2 times
