Description

Gamma-ray decay of levels in the stable copper isotopes 63Cu and 65Cu has been studied using sup(63,65)Cu(n,n'#betta#) reactions for incident neutron energies between threshold and 6 MeV. Of the 257 #betta#-rays or #betta#-ray groups observed for neutron interactions with 63Cu, 137 have been placed or tentatively placed among 88 levels in 63Cu up to an excitation energy of 5.9 MeV. Similarly, of 335 #betta#-rays or #betta#-ray groups observed for neutron interactions with 65Cu, 127 have been placed among 100 levels in 65Cu up to an excitation energy of 5.8 MeV, including new decay data for > 70 excited states of 65Cu.
