Radiation-induced defects in laminated crystals of cadmium halides
- 1. L'vovskij Gosudarstvennyj Univ. (Ukrainian SSR)
Description
Crystals of cadmium halides are used for creation of scintillation detectors of ionizing radiation. At the same time the problems of radiation stability of these crystals were not studied specially. Processes of defect formation in CdI2 and CdBr2 crystals, exposed to X-rays are investigated in the paper. Presented results base the possibility of using cadmium bromide crystals in the dosimetry of ionizing radiation, as well as demonstrate high radiation stability of cadmium iodide crystals
