Description
Nowadays, eye cancer has become one of the most serious diseases threatening human health. The traditional methods for eye cancer are surgical removal and chemotherapy. However, they not only have poor clinical outcome but also cause great damage to patients. With the development of radiation medicine, radiotherapy has received considerable attention because of the simple operation, less trauma and good clinical effect compared with other methods. At present, the common radiotherapy for eye cancer includes radioactive plaques therapy and proton beam radiation therapy. In this article, current situation and developing trends of the two methods were discussed. (authors)
