A method for determining the radon exhalation from building materials

Description

The radon exhalation from various Ra-containing building materials (mill tailings) incorporated in concretes has been examined using exhalation chamber tests. The velocity of radon diffusion is shown to be greater in concretes than in the building materials as such. A rapid method has been developed allowing a reliable estimation of radon exhalation from building materials to be made within a few hours. (author)
