Microstructure and properties of Zr and Zr-Ti alloy produced by powder metallurgy method from ZrH2 and TiH2 hydrides

Description
Strength and dense specimens of Zr and Ti-45 wt.% Zr alloy were produced by powder metallurgy methods from ZrH2 and TiH2 powders. Zr specimens were produced by hot pressing, and Ti-Zr ones - by pressing at room temperate and following dehydrogenation annealing and sintering. After sintering at 1600 Deg C, Ti-Zr alloy has a single phase structure typical for martensite β→α transformation
