IMPURITY STATES OF THALLIUM IN LEAD TELLURIDE AND SUPERCONDUCTIVITY OF PBTE:TL
Description
A specific interpretation is given of the differences between the densities of states in the valence band of PbTe crystals doped with Tl and Na impurities. This interpretation is based on the hypothesis of existence of quasilocal resonance states of Tl. The assumption that the Tl impurity states in PbTe behave as centers with a negative correlation energy is used to show that the superconducting state of PbTe:Tl can be accounted for by a nonphonon mechanism proposed by Ting et al
