Aufgabenstellung: Für die Durchführung der gesamten dem GHR-Projekt dienenden Untersuchungen liegt im wesentlichen der 3. Besprechungsbericht EZ-Dr.Bi/Gm vom 4.12.61 zugrunde. Darin war festgelegt worden, daß die Entwicklung einer Gasturbogruppe als Prototyp Grundlagen für spätere größere Anlagen im Bereich von 100 MW ergeben soll. Die Auslegung einer solchen Anlage sollte durch folgende wesentliche Merkmale gekennzeichnet sein; 1) Verwendung von Helium oder eines Gases mit heliumnahen Eigenschaften als Arbeitsmedium bei einem oberen Druckpegel von etwa 50 ata. 2) Auslegung der Anlage für möglichst hohen Gesamtwirkungsgrad. Die Wahl der Turbineneintrittstemperatur sollte unter Berücksichtigung einer Entwicklungszeit von 8 bis 10 Jahren darauf abgestimmt werden. Des weiteren ist Zwischenkühlung und Wärmerückgewinn durch einen Rekuperator vorzusehen, weshalb Eintrittstemperaturen in den Reaktor um 500°C zu erwarten sind.
