TCFD: when corporate climate reporting takes on a strategic dimension. How far do companies have to go to meet the TCFD's recommendations? An application to the CAC 40
Description
Since 2014, and in an accelerated way since the success of COP21 and the adoption of the Paris Agreement in December 2015, the signals of greater consideration of climate issues by the private sector are multiplying. The involvement and commitment of the financial sector has been one of the main drivers of this development. In this context, the recommendations of the Task Force on Climate-Related Financial Disclosures represent a pivotal step in mobilizing the financial sector in the fight against climate change. A first publication reports an analysis of the TCFD's final report by explaining the content of the recommendations and the specifics of reporting for the 'high stake' sectors. A second publication presents the results of a study conducted with 36 companies (weighing nearly 95 pc of the CAC40 French stock market index), and aimed at assessing the compliance of their current reporting with the recommendations of the TCFD
