Observations of 3C sources in the Galactic plane
- 1. Mullard Radio Astronomy Observatory, Cambridge (UK). Cavendish Lab.
Description
Maps are presented of 30 bright extragalactic radio sources within 100 of the Galactic plane. High-resolution maps are now available for all 3 CR sources and all other known sources with S(178)>10 Jy and Dec>100 in the region. Identifications have been searched for on the Palomar Sky Survey and nine new candidate identifications have been found, three of which have been confirmed spectroscopically. A sample of 39 sources is defined which can be added to the sample of previous authors to form a complete sample with S(178)>=10 Jy, Dec>100. (author)
