Effect of specimen size and material condition on Charpy impact properties of 9 Cr-1 MoVNb
Description
Charpy-impact properties were determined on full- and subsize specimens of normalized-and-tempered as well as quenched-only 9Cr-1MoVNb steel. The subsize specimen produced consistently smaller fractional drops in the upper-shelf energy and larger shifts in the transition temperature than did the full-size specimen. Area and volumetric normalizations of the specimen size effect were also performed
