Description
The Ni 2p core-level spectrum of Ni70Cr5Si10B15 is measured with photoelectron spectroscopy. We analyze the Ni 2p core-level spectrum by using a curve fitting method and calculate a theoretical Ni 2p spectrum with the single-impurity Hamiltonian. With εd = -0.3 eV, Δ = 319 meV, and Upd = -4.9 eV, the theoretical Ni 2p core-level spectrum of Ni70Cr5Si10B15 reproduces the experimental one reasonably well, and the number of Ni 3d electrons (nd) we get for this amorphous alloy is 9.43.
