The art of measuring quantum states

Description

A central idea in quantum theory is the wavefunction. The wavefunction contains everything there is to know about the particle - be it a photon, an atom or molecule, an ion or a beam of particles. Physicists at the University of Ulm describe recent experiments that have been able to prepare light and matter in specific quantum states and to make measurements on them. (UK)
