Electron beam treatment of malignant tumors of salivary glands

Description
Fourteen cases of parotid gland tumors were treated using 15-20 MeV electrons on Linear Accelerator. All patients were followed 5 years or more after treatment. Time-dose relationship and techniques of treatment are outlined and a summary of results are reported. In conclusion, conservative surgery for parotid carcinoma and post-operative radiation seems to be a very effective treatment. Electron beam direct port is quite effective but gives marked reaction
