Interrelation of thermal expansion with elastic, thermodynamic and structural properties of solids
Description
In addition of the Grueneisen law a formula was derived which can be used for applied purposes, for example, for predictions of thermal strain values in material at temperatures above the Debye temperature. Calculated and experimental data for a number of substances (Cd, N, W, UO2, Sc2O3) on Cv/a ratio, where Cv - molar heat capacity, a - linear expansion coefficient are given. Satisfactory agreement of results was obtained
