Solar luminosity oscillations from two stations and correlation with velocity measurements

Description

Since 1984 the measurements of a quadruple photometer sited at the Observatorio del Teide (Izana, Tenerife) have made it possible to identify the p-mode luminosity spectrum with simultaneous velocity observations. Comparing this data, the adiabatic behaviour of solar atmosphere and theoretical expectations from solar models have been tested. Now, in order to increase the signal-to-noise ratio and reduce the sidebands due to the night-time data gaps, a second identical photometer was set-up in December 1987, at the Observatorio de San Pedro Martir (Baja California Norte, Mexico). The first results of the observations of these two stations are analyzed and compared with simultaneous velocity measurements
