Multi-hadron production by lepton beams

Description

The average hadron multiplicity and transverse momentum for lepton induced reaction is investigated and found to be independent of Q2 and to depend most strongly on the mass of the hadron system. The mass dependence of the hadron multiplicity is found to be very similar for neutrino, charged lepton, and hadron induced reactions. Longitudinal and transverse properties of the neutrino induced hadron system are described. An analysis is made to see if the hadrons carry with them the charges of their parent quarks. (orig.)

Abstract (German)

Der Mittelwert fuer Hadron-Multiplizitaet und Querimpuls fuer leptoninduzierte Raktionen wird untersucht. Dabei zeigt sich, dass er von Q2 unabhaengig und weitgehend von der Masse des Hadronsystems abhaengig ist. Die Massenabhaengigkeit der Hadron-Multiplizitaet ist fuer neutrino-, durch geladene Leptonen und hadroninduzierte Reaktionen nahezu gleich. Laengs- und Quereigenschaften von neutrinoinduzierten Hadronsystemen werden beschrieben. Es wird untersucht, ob die Hadronen die Ladungen der Ausgangsquarks tragen. (orig.)
