Measurement of the n+d elastic scattering and the three-nucleon forces
Description
A neutron-deuteron elastic scattering experiments with the polarized neutron beam are carried out by using the different experimental methods between the forward scattering and backscattering in order to cover the large angular range from 10deg to 180deg. The experimental method is explained and the experimental results are compared with the theoretical calculation. On the differential scattering cross section, the large difference between the experimental values of n+d and p+d was observed. Its angular distribution showed the vibration structure by both experimental and theoretical results. The experimental values of vector polarization resolving power showed the large statistical errors. Accordingly, it was difficult to compare them with theoretical results. However, the result of n+d and p+d are agreed within error range. (S.Y.)
