Description
Outline of principle of neutron radiography and neutron image intensifier (I.I.) are described and the results of application reported. The principle of gadolinium neutron I.I. is explained. There are three application examples of visualization such as the small four-cycle engine, self-induced vibration heat pipe, and polymer electrolyte fuel cell. On small four cycle engine, visualization of the outside appearance and internal components of engine, contentious image of engine and image without and with oil are illustrated. Mass attenuation coefficients of X- and neutron-ray of natural elements, gadolinium neutron I.I., the experimental apparatus of heat pipe, image processing method of heat pipe flow, results of image processing, aluminum separator 3-cell stack based on Japan Automobile Research Institute (JARI) and a dynamic CT of water behavior in stack are illustrated.
