CO/sub 2/-laser-target interaction experiments

Creators

Description

Experiments have been performed at the Helios CO/sub 2/-laser facility to achieve high target density and to illustrate the transition from the exploding pusher to a more dominantly adiabatic mode of compression. Basic laser interaction experiments pertaining to energy absorption, hot-electron generation, and energy transport have also been carried out to investigate the physics of coupling and plasma behavior
