Ion irradiation effect on surface electric conductivity of K-208 glass

  • 1. Tomskij Politekhnicheskij Inst., Tomsk (Russian Federation)

Description

The influence of ion bombardment on the surface electric conductivity of glasses K-208 was investigated. It was found that irradiation of the samples by O+, Ar+, N+ ions did not change its electric conductivity. However, an essential (by a factor 106) increasing in the value of the surface conductivity after irradiation of glasses by Si+, C+, Sn+ ions was established. For all that the optical density was increased by 15...20%
