Description

After an indication of the main steps of the international struggle against the proliferation of weapons of massive destruction (from the Geneva protocol in 1925 to the NPT review conference in 2005), this article proposes an overview of the world situation regarding nuclear weapons: typologies of States regarding the NPT, limitations and difficulties of the struggle against proliferation, other bilateral or multi-lateral treaties and negotiations such as SALT and START. Then, it briefly addresses the case of biological and chemical weapons.
