Influence of skin effect on magnetic flux distribution in voltage driven devices with laminated cores

Description

The paper aims to analyse the role of eddy currents flowing within the laminations of a three-limbed magnetic core. This structure is fitted with two windings on the external legs; separate electric circuits supply each coil, so that different flux paths can be imposed, including the case of rotational flux evolution. The analysis is developed by means of a Finite Element approach involving the diffusion phenomena in a generalized constitutive model based on the solution of 1D field problems. The model also handles vector hysteresis through a Preisach-like model
