Quasistatic theory of ion cyclotron heating of a plasma in open plasma devices

Description
Impedance of turn antenna inducing oscillations with m=0 azimuthal wave number, as well as, HF capacity absorbed in plasma are calculated in terms of quasistatic approximations. Heating three mechanisms are considered, that is: cyclotron absorption of HF oscillations by heavy or light ion low impurity, excitation of slow magnetosonic and ion-ion hybrid oscillations within Alfven resonance, as well as, Cherenkov absorption by electrons. Collisionless and high-collision conditions of heating are analyzed. High efficiency of plasma heating considered scheme is proved
