Soft X-rays from very young supernova remnants
Description
A dynamical model of the very early evolution of a supernova remnant suggests that copious emission of X-rays will occur in the first 10 years. The radiation is largely in spectral lines in the range from 20 to 50 A and will be most easily observable towards the end of the first decade. The effect should be detectable, using state-of-the-art instruments, in any supernova occurring within 23 Mpc. (author)
