Nuclear energy at the service of the success of territories. Cahier des Regions - 2017
Description
While outlining that the nuclear sector represent 200.000 professionals and 2.500 companies with cutting edge installations in France, this publication first presents the nuclear sector as a committed actor for the economic dynamics of territories, nuclear energy as the basis of ecological transition and of a supportive electric power system. A map indicates, for each French region, the number of direct and indirect jobs, and another map indicates the balance of energy production for each region. Then, while indicating the shares of the different electric power production sources (nuclear, hydraulic, wind, solar, bio-energies, thermal fossil) and the number of concerned direct and indirect jobs, the characteristics and the situation of each region regarding the nuclear sector are briefly described and commented, with a map indicating locations of nuclear plants (operated, operated with a decommissioning activity, being dismantled), major sites (being operated or dismantled), companies, ASN, education sites, and nuclear medicine sites.
